Last week, we introduced the AURA API, giving developers the tools to create autonomous AI agents that plug into wallets, protocols, and Web3 apps. To take things a step further, we’re launching a hackathon designed to put those tools in your hands. With a $12,000 prize pool, this is your chance to push the boundaries of what AI can do onchain.

Hack and build using AURA API and win a share of $12,000!

The AdEx AURA API Hackathon is your opportunity to explore what happens when autonomous AI meets Web3. Whether you’re into AI tinkering, already building in crypto, or just looking for your next project, this is the perfect place to start.

The hackathon will run from September 22 to October 22, 2025. During this month-long window, you can bring your ideas, experiment freely, and leave your mark with the AURA API.

Prizes will be distributed across 4 selected projects:

  • 1 project will receive 5,000$
  • 2 projects will receive 3,000$ each
  • 1 project will receive 1,000$

What can you build

The hackathon is all about putting the AURA API to work, whether by integrating it into existing products or improving the open-source repo itself. Developers can extend wallets, layer AI into portfolio trackers, or spin up assistants and chatbots powered by AURA. There’s also room for automated trading strategies that run around the clock, or even new Model Context Protocols (MCPs) to connect with platforms like Claude or ChatGPT.

If you’d rather focus on the repo itself, you can contribute new trading or governance strategies, hardcoded or LLM-driven, or build deeper integrations with other MCPs. Fork it, use it as a dependency, or submit a PR: the choice is yours.
