Who Are the Winners of the AURA API Hackathon

The first-ever AURA API Hackathon has wrapped up, and the results are nothing short of inspiring. With a $12,000 prize pool and dozens of creative submissions from around the world, builders showed what happens when AI and Web3 finally start speaking the same language.

The AURA API enables developers to create autonomous AI agents that integrate with wallets, protocols, and Web3 apps.

We challenged them to show how far they could push it -  either by integrating AURA into existing tools like wallets, chatbots, and MCPs, or by contributing improvements and new ideas to the open-source repo..

What they created went beyond expectations. Here are the projects that took AURA to the next level.

Winner of the $5,000 prize: MCP AURA

The winning project is MCP AURA, which enables direct use of AURA from ChatGPT. It is an advanced AI-powered DeFi assistant that integrates with ChatGPT through the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

Built for intelligent Web3 portfolio management, it provides seamless DeFi operations across multiple blockchains with automated trading, yield farming, and portfolio analytics.

This DeFi Assistant was by far the most complex project submitted. The code has excellent quality, and the submission not only perfectly presents all the capabilities of AdEx AURA but also builds on this by providing further features, such as AI-powered transaction generation.

Winner 1 of $3,000: AURA Connect Snap

The next winning project is AURA Connect, a MetaMask AI agent Snap integration. It allows users to get AURA recommendations inside MetaMask wallet and to explore personalized DeFi strategies, insights, and wallet-based recommendations powered by AURA’s public API:

Natively integrating AdEx AURA directly inside a wallet is a great way to utilize it to its full potential. Thanks to Thomas’ submission, all MetaMask wallet users can have access to AURA’s recommendations and make the most out of their portfolios.

Winner 2 of $3,000: HeyAura Chatbot

HeyAura is an AI DeFi assistant that demonstrates x402 micropayments integrated with an LLM chat that analyzes a user's wallet portfolio and provides DeFi strategy recommendations, powered by the AURA API.

The app provides the beginnings of a framework that could be used to enable 100% self-custody on-the-fly micropayments for any LLM tool calls, including those involving MCP servers. This could help make user-facing LLM applications more sustainable and accessible to anyone with a browser and some USDC.

x402 (a protocol standard enabling autonomous payments onchain) is currently a trending narrative in the AI Agents space due to the growing need for economic flows between machines (e.g., API calls, services, etc). Therefore, we were pleased to see a submission that combines the AdEx AURA API with x402 payments.

Winner of the $1,000 prize: Farcaster Mini App

The project integrates Aura into a Farcaster Mini App, allowing users to connect their Farcaster or external wallets and view personalized insights about their portfolio. Additionally, it enables users to share their investment strategies as posts, helping to build community engagement and increase brand visibility.

Farcaster is the biggest decentralized social network. Thanks to this project, every person on Farcaster and all Base app users now have access to AdEx AURA DeFi recommendations, helping them enhance their portfolios.

ADDITIONAL PRIZES

Since we were very impressed with a large number of the submissions, we decided to award an additional 4 prizes of $420 in $ADX tokens to the following projects for their exceptional quality and ingenuity:

Aura Grow

Aura Grow is an educational app that visualizes how time and interest shape your crypto growth, and demonstrates the power of compound interest using real data from the AdEx AURA API.

Aura Safe

The Aura Safe App integrates Aura’s portfolio analysis directly into the Safe ecosystem and turns Aura insights into proof‑of‑concept, actionable strategies for DeFi protocols.

Isaura

Isaura is a multi-wallet crypto portfolio tracking platform that allows you to monitor all your wallets across multiple networks from a single unified dashboard, while also providing AI-driven strategies.

Auratrack

Auratrack is an intelligent multi-chain portfolio tracker that aggregates blockchain data and provides intelligent, AI-driven investment strategy recommendations.

Honorable mentions

There were a total of 14 submissions, and choosing only 4 winners was not an easy task for the team. There were submissions incorporating various tools, protocols, and SDKs, such as ENS domains, the Safe ecosystem, X (ex. Twitter), n8n nodes, etc. This just goes to show the large variety of use-cases and integrations that making the AdEx AURA API public opens up.
